The Sower’s Academy Recommended Dress Code
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (1 Cor.10:31)
TSA values a family’s self-government, including oversight of decisions related to appropriate dress standards. Uniforms are not required, however, we expect all student dress to be in support of our shared Christian values and biblical worldview, and also that outward appearance ensures the safety of the individual student and supports a healthy and developmentally-appropriate learning environment for all.
Please keep in mind the following considerations for daily student dress:
- Students regularly learn and play outdoors. Natural, breathable fabrics are encouraged!
- Comfortable, casual wear is acceptable, including crocs.
- Leotards, bathing suits, pajamas, slippers, high heels and open-toed flip flops are discouraged (unless special dress is specified.)
- No clothing with any reference to drugs, sex, alcohol, gangs, violence or profanity, illegal activity, or any images, logos or references that would be contrary to a biblical, Christian worldview.
- Clothing with buttons must be properly buttoned
- All clothing must provide appropriate coverage; see-through fabrics, holes, excessively tight fitting, midriff-bearing tank tops, tube tops, or visible undergarments is discouraged.
- The chest area of any shirt or dress should be non-revealing.
- Students may wear appropriate shirts, dresses, pants, jeans, skirts, and shorts in any color/print.
- Pants, jeans, and shorts must be properly fastened, buttoned, zipped, and worn at the natural waistline.
- Girls are encouraged to wear bloomers, boy shorts, or tights under shorter fitting skirts/dresses
- Shoes must be worn at all times and must allow student to move/walk comfortably indoors, outdoors, and have stability on play equipment.
- Hats, caps, hoodies and scarves are acceptable, but will be removed during prayer and chapel services
- Any articles of clothing or jewelry that could cause injury, including belt chains, wallet chains, animal collars, or any sharp, spiked or studded items are discouraged
